Personalized Piano Lessons That Help Students Grow with Confidence

Some students thrive in an in-person learning environment. Face-to-face lessons provide the focus, encouragement, and personal connection that help students build strong musical foundations and enjoy the learning process.

Whether your child is just beginning or already has years of experience, each lesson is tailored to their individual goals, learning style, and pace.

Lessons are taught at my studio, located at 220 E. Redoubt Ave. in Soldotna, Alaska. I offer private, one-on-one instruction for students ages 6 through adult. Whether you are just beginning, looking to transition to a more advanced teacher, have been playing for years, or are returning to piano after taking a break, lessons are personalized to meet you where you are and help you continue growing as a musician.

My teaching is rooted in a classical foundation and follows a traditional approach that emphasizes strong technique, musical understanding, and a well-rounded education at the piano. Students begin with a 45-minute lesson once a week, which provides a great balance of learning new repertoire, developing skills, reinforcing music theory through games and activities, and making steady progress. Sixty-minute lessons are also available for intermediate and advanced students who would benefit from additional lesson time.

For students who enjoy performing, there are opportunities throughout the year to participate in recitals, festivals, competitions, and adjudications. These experiences are always optional and provide a wonderful way to build confidence, work toward personal goals, and celebrate each student's progress.

Is In-Person Learning the Right Fit?

In-person lessons are often ideal for students who:

  • Focus better face-to-face

  • Benefit from hands-on guidance

  • Enjoy a consistent weekly routine

  • Build confidence through personal connection

  • Want performance opportunities

  • Prefer immediate feedback during lessons

Every Lesson Is Personalized

No two students learn exactly the same way.

Each lesson is adapted to match the student's learning style, goals, and pace of progress. When extra time is needed to build confidence, lessons slow down. When students are ready to advance, the curriculum moves with them.

The goal is steady, meaningful progress while helping students develop confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of music.
