Meet Mr. Mark

Want to know a little about me? I am a person who enjoys both our cold winters and our warm summer days. In my free time, you’ll often find me bowling, playing frisbee golf, or enjoying the quiet beauty of the beaches in Homer and Seward. I also spent part of my childhood living in the Philippines, where my mother is from, which was a special and formative experience for me.

I am a Nationally Certified Piano Instructor who believes in building a strong classical foundation through thoughtful, student-centered teaching. I focus on developing healthy technique, musical understanding, and helping each student grow into a confident, fluent musician at the piano.

What Makes My Approach Different from Other Piano Teachers

Classical Training in a Supportive Space
Your child receives high-level instruction from a classically trained pianist in an encouraging environment.

Student-Centered Lessons
Every lesson is tailored to your child’s pace and learning style to ensure steady progress without frustration.

Confidence-Building Technique
Drawing on Taubman, Russian school, and modern pedagogy, I help students play with clarity, freedom, and confidence.

Learning Through Play
Younger students engage through games, visuals, and movement—making lessons fun and motivating.

Extensive Music Library
With over 3,000 books and scores, I always have the right music to challenge and inspire.

Parents as Partners
Inspired by the Suzuki method, I keep parents involved so they can support practice and celebrate progress at home.
